Community & Merit

More than
Vermicelli
It's Community

Our regular "giveaway" (ทิ้งกระจาด) is well-known to the people of Khlong Khlung — and on special occasions, our factory grounds open as a place for Buddha image casting where the community joins in making merit together.

"Good vermicelli doesn't come from machines alone. It comes from the relationships with the people around us — from the farmers who grow mung beans to our neighbours in Khlong Khlung."

— Khlong Khlung Family · heritage from Tha Ruea Vermicelli · since 1953
Chapter 1

Giveaway
back to the
community

"Ting Krachat" is our tradition — we gather rice, dried food, oil and seasonings into supply bags, then set up a charity station so residents from Khlong Khlung and nearby areas can come and receive them.

Not a one-off event — but something we do regularly, because giving is part of being a good neighbour.

Chapter 2

Tan · Phueng · Wan
Souvenir Shop
Third Generation

"Tan · Phueng · Wan" are the names of the three daughters in our family — the third-generation successors to our factory — and the name of our souvenir shop, a stop for travellers along Phahonyothin Road.

The shop is not only for our own products — it also stocks clean, high-quality goods from neighbouring communities for travellers to discover, and brings famous goods from elsewhere for our community to buy at fair prices.

Beyond our many vermicelli varieties, the shop's signature souvenir is "Salim" — a favourite that tourists never leave without — along with our signature bag-tying, used since the Tha Ruea days and still a family signature today.

Chapter 3

Reducing Energy,
Toward
low-carbon

We've started installing solar panels on the factory roof — to reduce our reliance on external energy and lower carbon emissions in our production process.

It's part of our effort to join the low-carbon initiative in the Thai food industry — as much as a factory our size can do, one step at a time.

Chapter 4 · A Special Occasion

An honour to
be host

Once, our factory was honoured to host a Buddha image casting ceremony together with a senior local craftsman — one of the few still carrying on this rare expertise.

The same grounds where we make vermicelli on ordinary days became, for that occasion, the place for the smelting kiln, the altar, and the welcoming of monks, attendees and the temple committee — a memory we look back on with pride.
